I really have no idea what to think about this. Contemporary media seems to think that depicting Southern U.S. ” Bible Belt ” companies & groups as ” racist ” & homophobic as well as mega – Conservative ( & I have known & do presently some Southerners who are extremely Conservative, like in my own family ) can boost readership / viewership.
Chick – fil – a makes a TASTY ( If somewhat cholesterol – laden ) line of poultry – based items, but ever since my big move in ’08, I haven’t seen a Chick – Fil – A, nor do I really miss them. & I’m trying to eat healthier, too. So, unless one opens up a couple of blocks away, I’m not going to stress about boycotting them.
What bothers me is that the founders & managers are – or at least CLAIM to be – Christian conservatives espousing family values. The last time I checked, homophobia & racism were DEFINITELY NOT Christian family values. Unless you were a Tea Party member or member of the Religious Right. If so, they probably support Donald & Ted, too.
& if one DOES open up a block or 2 away, I’m not going, because of their closed – minded views & the cholesterol levels, tasty though their fast – food treats may seem.
In June 2012, fast-food chain Chick-fil-A was placed in an extremely unfavorable light following a series of public comments made by its chief operating officer and son of the company’s found…

I still find it credibility – straining that Martin Luther King, Jr., was a Republican as some people have claimed. Yes, it’s true ( Or at least accepted ) the Republican party favored abolishing slavery, but the Republican party of that period was probably radically different from TODAY’s Republican Party. In fact I’d bet even money on it.
The GOP is the party of the Gulf War, ” hawks “, the one – percent, the crushers of dreams, that could care LESS about the environment, equal rights for all, health care, truth. They seem to care about a Christian Taliban more than the Constitution, & whether or not one is sleeping with someone of the same sex.
Together with the Religious Right, they seem to favor a theocracy with dashes of George Orwell’s ” Big Brother ” mixed in.
Hardly anything Dr. King would approve of.
Despite the Civil Rights Movement, racism is as rampant in America as it was when Dr. King marched and revealed his dream.

After this election, or maybe the next one, the Republicans will have to hammer out a lot of dents to their reputation & credibility, even to the handful of Republicans who are moderate & can make decisions without getting their programming from Fox News & the Religious Right ” pundits “.
That’s going to be a fair bunch of maintenance, should they decide to do it.
Either that or the GOP collapses under the weight of a trainload of lies, contradictions, half – truths, paranoia, etc. The GOP has lost touch with the average person. Do they care ?
It is true, Trump is a fascist, but so are Republicans, the Koch brothers, and millions of angry white racist evangelicals and the Tea Party

And THIS is why the Republican Party is doomed. They either lost their collective soul or sold it.
And why we won’t have a Republican president unless this country Loses. Its. Mind. OR the GOP gets a massive overhaul & ” lifestyle – lift “.
Trump, who is running a blatantly racist and xenophobic campaign, holds a double digit lead in the GOP presidential race.

The Republican party has become the party of paranoia, rumor – mongering, obstructions, discord, hate – mongering, xenophobia & just about everything else wrong with the U.S. What’s worse, they depend on the fear, distrust & hatred.
Abraham Lincoln’s ghost is weeping…..
Paul Krugman noted that since Barack Obama was sworn in as President, Republicans and conservatives have done nothing but “warn about imminent catastrophe.”
