Night of the Supermoon & the Lunar Eclipse !

I saw bits & pieces of it Sunday evening, but it was very cloudy, difficult to get really good photographs. Cloudy, a full – but – eclipsing in an otherwise overcast sky. The only thing missing was the howl of a lonesome wolf in the distance. My mind had supplied the near – perfect soundtrack : The ” Thriller ” soundtrack. You could have a different experience. Like Ray Parker’s ” Ghostbusters ” theme. My alternative soundtrack was King Harvest’s ” Dancing in the Moonlight “.

My photographs weren’t all that great. Photographing the Moon with a camera – phone isn’t always easy. A glass of Plum Sake & a can of Sapporo at a Japanese restaurant I try to frequent probably didn’t help matters either. 🙂 Maybe I’ll include some photos later.

My pictures of full – & – ” Super ” Moons often look like van Gogh’s ” Starry Night ” featured in this post. Trust me on this…..

  1. I want to see the photos. I slept through the supermoon eclipse but it was raining, so I can give myself a free pass. I woke up this morning to see lots of brilliant photos from blogs around WP. Although, something tells me that if I lived in an observatory, I would find a way to ignore it. I’m good with “phenomena” like that. x

    1. If i can get them to upload. My computer had taken to ” eating ” my photos off & on over the last 4 months or so. It crashed, & so maybe it’s lost its old habit. 🙂 I had 2 telescopes but this is a rather small apartment, so they’re probably at my cousin’s house.
What music would you consider appropriate for Moon viewing ? Just curious.

      1. Best of luck with the upload. Flickr likes to eat my work, which is very frustrating. Moon viewing music for me would be La Luna by Sarah Brightman, if you don’t listen past track 5. (Track 4 Figlio Perduto is my favourite). The second runner up would be the Riverdance music by Bill Whelan. If you’re in a festive mood. x
